A study on canalisation in an experiment on convergent selection in rabbits

, : A study on canalisation in an experiment on convergent selection in rabbits. ITEA Produccion Animal 100A(3): 261-266

In a trial carried out in Valencia, divergent selection for uterine capacity, carried out over 10 generations of rabbits, resulted in the development of a synthetic line selected for litter size. Genetic values were estimated, using BLUP with an additive method of repeatability, and reproduction was organised in discrete generations. Each line comprised around 40 females and 12 males per generation.
