Determination of optimal mowing height for Poa supina Schrad. under traffic conditions

, : Determination of optimal mowing height for Poa supina Schrad. under traffic conditions. International Turfgrass Society Research Journal 10: 436-440

Supina bluegrass (Poa supina) has intensified for use as a turfgrass in the northern USA and Canada in recent years due to its aggressive stoloniferous growth habit and exceptional shade tolerance. Unfortunately, a lot of the management for supina bluegrass is hearsay; particularly, optimum mowing heights are not well documented. A field study was conducted in Michigan, USA, from 1996 to 1999, to determine its appropriate mowing height range under traffic on a loam soil.
