The effects of a variable depth root zone on soil moisture in a sloped USGA putting green

, : The effects of a variable depth root zone on soil moisture in a sloped USGA putting green. International Turfgrass Society Research Journal 10: 1060-1066

The United States Golf Association (USGA) specification for putting green construction requires a uniform root zone mix depth of 300 mm. Greens constructed to these specifications have experienced soil moisture problems especially in areas of undulation.
