Vegetative propagation of passionfruits: drought resistant species, with economic potential for agriculture in arid areas

, : Vegetative propagation of passionfruits: drought resistant species, with economic potential for agriculture in arid areas. Instrucoes Tecnicas da Embrapa Semi Arido (61): 4 pp.

A brief overview is given of the cultivation of passion fruits (Passiflora cincinnata and P. setacea) in semi-arid regions of Brazil. Vegetative propagation is discussed with reference to grafting and rootstocks. Tolerance to drought and vigour are characteristics which favour the cultivation of this crop in arid areas.
