Paratuberculosis (PTB) is a disease which causes considerable economic losses to livestock producers, particularly in the dairy industry. Nowadays, PTB is one of the most common and costly infectious diseases of dairy cattle. The economic losses, which may be caused by Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP), in dairy cattle herds are discussed in this article.
