5 new larval trombiculidae acarina from liberia and 1 from zaire

, : 5 new larval trombiculidae acarina from liberia and 1 from zaire. Entomologische Mitteilungen aus dem Zoologischen Museum Hamburg 6(101): 101-131

Eight trombiculid larvae belonging to 3 genera, Neotrombicula, Schoengastiella and Gahrliepia, are described and illustrated. Six are new species; 5 originate from Liberia and 1 from Zaire. All are parasites of rodents, i.e., Lophuromys. The classification of Trombiculinae and Gahrliepiinae is partially and briefly recalled, including the erection of 1 new generic and 7 subgeneric taxa. [New taxa described include: AFROTROMBICULA AFROTROMBICULA nigeriensis gen. et sub gen. nov. (type species Trombicula nigeriensis Ewing, 1928), TAUFFIEBICULA subgen. nov. (type species Trombicula nyongae Taufflieb et Mouchet, 1952), Neotrombicula (Tauffliebicula) lophuromyia sp. nov., N. (T.) liberia sp. nov., KEPKAIA subgen. nov. (type species Walchia parvula Schluger, 1955, RADFORDIELLA subgen. nov. (type-species Schoengastiella hipposideros, Audy, 1952), ELASMOPROCTIELLA subgen. nov. (type species Gahrliepia (Schoengastiella) arona Traub et Evans, 1954), DURENIELLA subgen. nov. (type species Schoengastiella dureni Jadin et V-G, 1952), S. (D.) ocellata sp. nov., S. (D.) subcaeca sp. nov., Gahrliepia (Gateria) megaspis sp. nov., G. (Giroudia) liberiensis sp. nov. and OZOSETIELLA subgen. nov. (type species Gahrliepia moucheti V-G., 1960.].
