A mechanism of the physiological effect of crown ethers on excitable formations

, : A mechanism of the physiological effect of crown ethers on excitable formations. Fiziologicheskii Zhurnal (Kiev) 33(5): 106-109

It is shown that crown-lactose shifts the curves of potential-dependent activation and inactivation of sodium input current of the isolated cardiomyocytes by 10-15 mV towards the region of more negative membrane potentials. It is suggested that the weakening of the calcium input in cardiomyocytes by crown-lactone mediated by sodium-calcium exchange is due to its interaction with calcium cations on the membrane surface.
