By using the method of dust visualization the aerodynamics of tethered flight of hesperiid moth Thymelicus lineola Ochs. was studied. The whole stroke of wings generate two thick-cored circular vortex rings of equal thickness but different size. The sagittal section of the wake .sbd. the vortex path .sbd. consists of duble vortex row and its perpendicular to the stroke plane. The vortex ring formed in downstroke during the up movement of wings changes its localization, accelerates air flow downwards and increases its diameter. The flying insect aerodynamic wake model is to take into account both the Golubev's vortex path properties (because of the thickness of vortex rings and their interaction) and the behaviour of the downstroke ring.
