Afterloading system in intra cavitary therapy its clinical and physical advantages

, : Afterloading system in intra cavitary therapy its clinical and physical advantages. Indian Journal of Cancer 14(4): 335-339

An indigeneously designed semi-rigid manual after-loader is presented. Its physical and clinical advantages are discussed, especially in relation to local tumor control over the years. Problems of radiation protection are highlighted in view of inadequate stock of intracavitary sources available at most of the cancer hospitals and institutions in the country [India]. The short term results are compared with those of reported series.
