Aspects of the effect of vibration on the blood supply to the true pelvis in different periods of the menstrual cycle

, : Aspects of the effect of vibration on the blood supply to the true pelvis in different periods of the menstrual cycle. Gigiena Truda i Professional'nye Zabolevaniya (12): 14-18

Working conditions of female tractor drivers were studied. The drivers are exposed to a complex set of adverse factors, the principal of which is low-frequency vibration. The blood supply to the pelvic organs was investigated rheographically in 30 drivers at work and experimentally in 11 others under test conditions. In drivers the degree of change in the amount of blood supplied to the pelvic organs depends upon the level and duration of the vibration and is manifested in decreased vascular tone and venous congestion in the pelvic organs. With 4 Hz frequency and 123 dB intensity vibration a relationship between changes in the blood supply to the pelvic organs and the menstrual cycle was established. The most marked changes in the hemodynamics of the pelvic organs are observed during menstruation.
