Clinical significance of the cytochemical study of nonenzymatic cationic proteins of peripheral blood leukocytes

, : Clinical significance of the cytochemical study of nonenzymatic cationic proteins of peripheral blood leukocytes. Klinicheskaya Meditsina (Moscow) 59(11): 88-92

Results of the cytochemical study of nonenzymatic cationic proteins (NCP) of peripheral blood polymorphonuclear leukocytes in 122 adult patients (rheumatism, cirrhosis of the liver, ischemic heart disease, lepromatous leprosy) and 125 children (dysentery, virus hepatitis, pneumonia) are analyzed. Comparison by age revealed that predominance of leukocytes with a higher NCP content was typical of children. A correlation was established of the NCP content to the activity and stage of disease. Study of the time course of NCP content of peripheral blood leukocytes can be used in establishing the course and prognosis of the disease.
