Clinical studies on pruritus in hemodialysis patients clinical effects of ms antigen 40

, : Clinical studies on pruritus in hemodialysis patients clinical effects of ms antigen 40. Nishinihon Journal of Urology 50(1): 349-352

Clinical studies were performed on pruritus in hemodialysis patients in our hospitals. Clinical effects of MS-antigen 40 for 33 pruritus patients were examined after administration. The results obtained were as follows: 1) The value of serum c-PTH was higher in pruritus patients than in non-pruritus patients. 2) This drug was effective in 26 pruritus patients (78.8%). Side effects were nausea and vertigo in one case. 3) In pruritus patients treated with hemodialysis, the effects of this drug were related to duration of hemodialysis, value of serum BUN and creatinine, number of eosinocytes in peripheral blood and concentration of serum histamine.
