Comparison of reverse passive hemagglutination assay and solid phase agglutination of coated erythrocytes with elisa for rotavirus antigen detection

, : Comparison of reverse passive hemagglutination assay and solid phase agglutination of coated erythrocytes with elisa for rotavirus antigen detection. Indian Journal of Medical Research 84(SEPT): 327-330

The sensitivity and specificity of reverse passive haemagglutination assay (RPHA) and solid phase agglutination of coated erythrocytes (SPACE) using antibody to simian rotavirus (SA-11) were compared with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for detection of rotavirus antigen in stool samples. As compared to ELISA, sensitivity of RPHA was 82.3 per cent and that of SPACE 41.1 per cent. Both the tests had the same specificity (95%).
