Determination of nitrate reductase with laser induced thermal lensing colorimetry

, : Determination of nitrate reductase with laser induced thermal lensing colorimetry. Analytical Biochemistry 127(1): 164-170

Laser-induced thermal-lensing effect was applied to the measurement of nitrate reductase with Lowe's method. An Ar+ laser (514.5 nm) was used as the heat and probe sources. Signal processing for calibration was compared with respect to the steady-state method (with a personal computer system) and the transient method (with a transient memory-signal averager system). The least detectable amount of nitrate reductase is 5 .times. 10-7 unit/ml, which corresponds to 20 times that of the ordinary colorimetry. The dissolved nitrate reductase activity in pond water was observed by using the present method.
