Differential staining of rice chromosomes

, : Differential staining of rice chromosomes. Soviet Agricultural Sciences (English Translation of Doklady Vsesoyuznoi Ordena Lenina i Ordena Trudovogo Krasnogo Znameni Akademii Sel'skokhozyaistvennykh Nauk Imeni V I Lenina) (6): 20-23

Rice chromosomes were analyzed using cold induction of dividing cells. The localization of condensated (dark) and decondensated (light) areas (segments in chromosomes of each arm) were considered after differential staining. Morphological characteristics of rice mitotic chromosome structure and a quantitative and a qualitative evaluation of condensated and decondensated segment arrangement after differential staining are presented. Reliable cytological markers were obtained.
