Effectiveness of complex prophylactic measures to control tick borne encephalitis in the novosibirsk oblast

, : Effectiveness of complex prophylactic measures to control tick borne encephalitis in the novosibirsk oblast. Meditsinskaya Parazitologiya i Parazitarnye Bolezni 46(5): 553-557

In the development of encephalitis control measures in a territory it is necessary to use epidemiological criteria to choose specific and nonspecific prophylaxis methods. The objective evaluation of tick-borne encephalitis control measures [in the Novosibirsk Oblast, USSR] consists in the marked and stable decline in the incidence rate of human diseases and the highest number of prevented cases by which the socio-economic effect may be estimated. The latter may be expressed by the conditional saving of hospital beds and the calculated prevented loss of working days among the population.
