Effects of b group vitamins on the variations in endogenous phenolic acid pattern of young and mature fruits of cluster bean cyamopsis tetragonoloba cultivar pnb

, : Effects of b group vitamins on the variations in endogenous phenolic acid pattern of young and mature fruits of cluster bean cyamopsis tetragonoloba cultivar pnb. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences India Section B (Biological Sciences) 54(1): 55-60

Phenolic compounds were analyzed in the young and mature fruits of C. tetragonoloba Taub cv. PNB under the influence of B group vitamins. About 14 phenolics were detected and their amounts were estimated. The total acid content increased in the mature fruits as against the control fruits. The promotor inhibitor ratio decreased under the influence of thiamine, riboflavin and pyridoxine treatments, while it increased under the influence of pantothenic, nicotinic and folic acid treatments. The relevance of these changes is discussed in the light of existing literature.
