Additional observations are presented on Gelbsepia- and Schildpattsepia-rabbits (chinchilla without aguti: ccheBDa and ccheBda), whose pigmentation is sensitive to temperature. Because the critical temperature for skin pigment formation is higher than for Himalayan rabbits, they are satisfactory subjects for the investigation of the influence of pathological factors on skin temperature. Goiter (mechanical effect) and hereditary spastic paralysis (nervous disturbance) increase the local pigment formation. Reduction of skin temperature by such disturbances is visible by pigmentation.
