Hem angio endothelio sarcoma of the breast 2 case reports with an ultrastructural study of 1 case

, : Hem angio endothelio sarcoma of the breast 2 case reports with an ultrastructural study of 1 case. Archives d'Anatomie et de Cytologie Pathologiques 29(3): 149-153

Two [human] cases of breast angiosarcoma are reported. These cases have morphologic features similar to those previously described in the literature. The extremely severe prognosis of the lesion is illustrated by the 1st case and the autopsic observations are detailed. An ultrastructural study was performed in the 2nd case. Erythropoiesis in 1 case and the possible presence of pericytes in the other are discussed. The hemangioendothelial origin of these tumors seems well established and the term of malignant hemangioendothelioma or hemangioendotheliosarcoma is preferred.
