Histological spectrum of viral hepatitis and its sequelae a review article

, : Histological spectrum of viral hepatitis and its sequelae a review article. Bulletin Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Chandigarh 10(3): 124-136

A critical up-to-date review of literature on viral hepatitis and its sequalae was attempted with special reference to its histological spectrum. Causes of terminological and semantic confusion are discussed and the solutions suggested by liver experts reviewed. The relevant statistics on the subject were analyzed. The need for multidisciplinary coordination for the diagnosis of viral hepatitis was emphasized. The need for discarding of various confusing terms such as subacute hepatitis or fulminant hepatitis is stressed.
