Induction of rooting in eggplant solanum melongena cultivar pusa purple long

, : Induction of rooting in eggplant solanum melongena cultivar pusa purple long. Acta Botanica Indica 6(SUPPL): 128-131

Stem cuttings of S. melongena cv. Pusa Purple Long were dipped in solutions of IAA, IBA and NAA [naphthaleneacetic acid] of different concentrations for 24 h to study the response of rooting. The solutions of 200 ppm of IAA and 100 and 200 ppm of NAA were lethal for shoot and root growth. IBA at 100 ppm gave maximum increase in length, diameter and fruit weight, root length, maximum diameter and total number of branches.
