Nutritional additives based on soybean cakes (heat treated) or ground soybeans do not appear to stimulate body weight gain or reduce specific food consumption in young broilers up to the age of 60 days. These feeding conditions seem to increase lipemia and pancreac lipase. There is a decrease in pancreatic trypsin and protidemia [proteinemia]. There is no change in glycemia. Heat treating of soybean cakes appears to reduce their inhibiting effect on pancreatic trypsin.
