Lack of utility of metabolic screening in menieres disease

, : Lack of utility of metabolic screening in menieres disease. Clinical Otolaryngology & Allied Sciences (Oxford) 9(1): 15-20

The incidence of disturbances of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism were studied in 2 groups of patients; 1 group with Meniere's disease, the other with otosclerosis. Apparently, metabolic disturbances are not the principal cause of the symptom complex in Meniere's disease. Results of thyroid function tests were also normal in all Meniere's patients tested.
