In view of the different function ascribed to isoenzymes of LDH [lactate dehydrogenase], 5 LDH components in the arterial wall of HgCl2 treated rabbits were studied. Results were used to emphasize the hypothesis that aerobic glycolysis increased under treatment and lipid accumulation may be of importance in atherogenesis and hypertension.
