Lactate dehydrogenase ldh in the sperm of simmenthal and east friesian bulls

, : Lactate dehydrogenase ldh in the sperm of simmenthal and east friesian bulls. Veterinarski Glasnik 41(10): 775-779

Notwithstanding a series of diagnostic procedures used in veterinary practice, evaluation of sperm fertility in the laboratory remains dubious. The determination of the activity of specific enzymes to be found in spermatozoids should provide an insight in to metabolic status of the sperm, thus helping towards assessment of the quality of ejaculate to be frozen. The paper will focus on the determination of LDH activity, based on glucose as a functional metabolic process in spermatozoids.
