Activities of the red and white muscle LDH [lactate dehydrogenase] from C-acclimated goldfish were about 3 times higher than those acclimated to C. Isozyme composition and some kinetic properties of the red muscle LDH differed from those of the white muscle enzyme. The amount of red muscle and LDH activity tended to increase during cold acclimation.
