, : Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of bone 5 cases. Zhonghua Guke Zazhi 4(3): 177-179

From 1977-1980, 5 cases of malignant fibrous histocytoma of bone were admitted. There were 3 male and 2 females, with ages ranging between 15-63. The bones involved were the proximal femur (1 case), distal tibia (1 case), skull (1 case), spinous process of 6th and 7th cervical vertebra (1 case) and 3rd lumbar vertebrae and 2 ribs (1 case). These tumors have no characteristic clinical manifestation and the diagnosis can only be made by pathological examination. One case refused amputation and was discharged, 1 case was discharged without treatment and died 3 mo. later. The other 3 cases underwent surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy or radiotherapy. One died 4 mo. later, the remaining 2 survived for 3-5 yr without recurrence.
