Peroxidase iso enzyme pattern of picea abies abies alba and larix decidua

, : Peroxidase iso enzyme pattern of picea abies abies alba and larix decidua. Phyton (Horn) 22(2): 201-212

The peroxidase-isoenzyme pattern of P. abies, A. alba and L. decidua was investigated to obtain information about the isoenzyme variation. Characteristic differences between the 3 genera were recognized. There also exists a large variability of isoenzyme pattern within 1 sp. This concerns the migration index as well as the breadth and also the intensity of coloring. Among the numerous possible peroxidase bands (Picea with .apprx. 19, Larix 17 and Abies 24) only a limited number appears in a single tree. On the average, individuals of spruce and larch possess 7 and fir 9 isoenzymes. Because of the great variability of the isoenzyme development, peroxidase hardly seems to be useful for genetical investigations in conifers.
