Pharmacologic studies on radix puerariae part 1 effects of puerariae on blood pressure vascular reactivity cerebral and peripheral circulation in dogs

, : Pharmacologic studies on radix puerariae part 1 effects of puerariae on blood pressure vascular reactivity cerebral and peripheral circulation in dogs. Chinese Medical Journal (English Edition) 1(5): 335-342

The mechanism of action of Radix puerariae (root of Pueraria lobata) was studied in dogs. Effects on blood pressure, vascular reactivity and cerebral and peripheral circulation were studied. Other drugs investigated were papaverine hydrochloride, noradrenaline tartrate, histamine phosphate, 5-hydroxytryptamine, creatine sulfate, methacholine bromide and acetylcholine chloride. The use of puerariae in treating (human) hypertension is discussed.
