The study of the interaction between mouse lymph node lymphocytes and allogenous hemopoietic stem cells, using a wide spectrum of the lymphocyte counts, has revealed two zones of the stimulating and two zones of the inactivating actions of the cells. The complex character of the interaction noted can be explained by the overlap of the effects of T1- and T2-subpopulations of the lymph node lymphocytes. The analysis of the quantitative characteristics of the lymphocyte interaction with stem cells allowed the authors to obtain arguments in favour of multiple affections of the stem cells by the effector cells.
