Study in vitro of the anti microbial activity of various antibiotics single and associated on the poly microbial flora isolated from abdominal pus

, : Study in vitro of the anti microbial activity of various antibiotics single and associated on the poly microbial flora isolated from abdominal pus. Acta Clinica Belgica 35(5): 300-305

Abdominal pus [28 human specimens] yielded 67 microorganisms (33 aerobic and 34 anaerobic strains). The minimal inhibitory concentrations of all these strains were determined for penicillins, cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, metronidazole and clindamycin. None of these antibiotics, even in combination (2 antibiotics) covered all these bacteria.
