Study of diapauses in the life cycle of procrustes coriaceus coleoptera carabidae

, : Study of diapauses in the life cycle of procrustes coriaceus coleoptera carabidae. Annales de Zoologie Ecologie Animale 10(1): 77-84

The life cycle of P. coriaceus possesses 2 dormancies; estivation quiescence of the adults is dependent upon the photoperiod which prevents ovarian maturation. Larval populations have a true diapause during winter. They need cold in the 2nd instar for their development. Metamorphosis demands higher temperatures (20.degree. C) after the low temperatures.
