Study of the rimantadine sensitivity of influenza virus a new jersey 8 76

, : Study of the rimantadine sensitivity of influenza virus a new jersey 8 76. Voprosy Virusologii (3): 369-371

Tests were conducted on chick embryos infected with influenza A/New Jersey/8/76 and A/Kaunas/535 (a standard laboratory strain of swine influenza). In a dose of 2.5 mg/embryo, rimantadine was not toxic and had a definite anti-influenza action. The A/New Jersey/8/76 strain was the more sensitive strain. The rimantadine analog .alpha.-ethyl-1-adamantane-methylamine showed some anti-influenza action, but was toxic in doses of 1.5 mg/embryo and higher.
