, : Study on rations for broilers i. comparative efficiency of different vitamin and mineral supplements in broiler's starter ration i. Pakistan Veterinary Journal 5(3): 140-142

A study involving 150, day-old broiler chicks extending over a period of 5 weeks (0-5 weeks) was conducted to compare different commercially available vitamin-mineral supplements in broiler's ration. The supplements tested were "self prepared premix", "vita-mineral premix", "Nutripol", "Rousselot S.A." and "Nutrimix B". "These were incorporated into a basal ratio. The supplemented rations were designated as A, B, C, D and E, respectively. Non-significant differences in growth rate and feed efficiency of the birds supplemented with various premixes were observed. The incidence of deficiency disease, viz; "curled toe paralysis", leg paralysis, "perosis", "neck retraction" and "dermatitis of the beak and around the eyes" was zero, 6.7, 10.0, 10.0 and 13.3 in percent the chicks fed on rations A,B,C,D and E, respectively.
