The importance of arthrography and arthroscopy for the indication of synoviorthesis with varicocid in juvenile chronic arthritis a therapeutic long term study

, : The importance of arthrography and arthroscopy for the indication of synoviorthesis with varicocid in juvenile chronic arthritis a therapeutic long term study. Aktuelle Rheumatologie 12(3): 231-233

Synoviorthesis with Varicocid was performed in 39 knee joints of 35 patients with juvenile chronic arthritis. 56% of the joints were symptom-free after 9.6 .+-. 4.4 (5-14) years. The best treatment results were obtained in 70-75% of the cases of monoarthritis and oligoarthritis of juvenile chronic arthritis and in 0-33% of the cases of polyarthritis and the systemic form of juvenile chronic arthritis. Arthrography or preferably arthroscopy should be included when determining the indication for Varicocid synoviorthesis, since up to 75% treatment successes can be expected only in inflammatory changes of the joints if these have been confirmed by these two diagnostic methods.
