The molar absorptivity of horseradish peroxidase

, : The molar absorptivity of horseradish peroxidase. Acta Chemica Scandinavica Series B Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry 30(4): 373-375

The absorption coefficient for the Soret band of horseradish peroxidase (E.C. 1.11.1.7) has been variously given as .epsilon.mM = 91-107 and this uncertainty has hampered kinetic and stoichiometric analyses. The enzyme follows Beer's law, contrary to some reports. Lyophilization or freezing (-18.degree. C) of buffered solutions sometimes causes losses of activity and alters the spectrum.
