This directory contains data up to 1973 on schools for medical assistants in those countries or areas whose governments communicated the requisite information to WHO. Each country or area is dealt with in a separate entry, which consists of a table giving the names and addresses of the schools, their conditions of admission, duration of training, language of instruction and other pertinent data. This is followed by a brief text that deals mainly with curriculum content and the sort of tasks the trainees will be called upon to fulfill after graduation. The volume is bilingual (English/French) and is complete with 2 summary appendixes and an appendix that includes some supplementary information relating to medical assistant training in various countries.
