Change in anterior chamber depth after posterior chamber iol implantation

, : Change in anterior chamber depth after posterior chamber iol implantation. Folia Ophthalmologica Japonica 40(9): 2007-2010

Opinion is divided as regards change in anterior chamber depth after posterior chamber IOL implantation. The following standardized conditions were used: 1. IOL Nidek-PC35. 2. IOL tilt: less than; decentration: less than 1 mm (by UOZATO'S METHOD). 3. One trained operator performing the same procedure. 4. Postoperatively no posterior synechia, little fibrin on the IOL A-mode echography and pachymetry in all cases. Results show that postoperatively, anterior chamber depth deepens and stabilizes in 2 .apprx. 4 months. In cases of shallow anterior chamber, the change after surgery was great; in cases of deep anterior chamber the change was comparatively slight. A-mode echography indicated shallower depth than did pachymetry, so the latter is more useful.
