Degradation of humates and of the humate simazine complex by nocardia asteroides

, : Degradation of humates and of the humate simazine complex by nocardia asteroides. Mikrobiologiya 57(6): 952-956

The transformation of sodium humate, the herbicide simazine and the humate-simazine complex by the soil actinomyces Nocardia asteroides was studied under the laboratory conditions. The degradation of these compounds by the actinomyces changed both their physiologcal activity and the metabolism of the culture. Simazine bound to humate in the humates-imazine complex lost its phytotoxicity faster than the free herbicide. This finding has an ecological significance.
