Gonadotropins and sex steroid hormones in females with exacerbated duodenal ulcer

, : Gonadotropins and sex steroid hormones in females with exacerbated duodenal ulcer. Vrachebnoe Delo (8): 64-66

Exacerbation of duodenal ulcer in women of the birthgiving period is characterized by an increase of blood prolactin, progesterone and estradiol that posssess a protective action. Simultaneously the concentration of testosterone is elevated which reduces the resistance of the gastroduodenal mucosa. In menopausal women exacerbaction of ulcer disease is accompanied by an increase of the FSH level, prolactin luteinizing hormone and testosterone, significant reduction of estradiol.
