Goodpasture's syndrome current concepts about anti basement membrane antibody mediated disease and systemic necrotizing vasculitides

, : Goodpasture's syndrome current concepts about anti basement membrane antibody mediated disease and systemic necrotizing vasculitides. Medicina (Ribeirao Preto) 24(2): 94-104

The term Goodpasture's syndrome is used to identify every disease characterized by pulmonary hemorrhage and glomerulonephritis independently of etiologic factors. The illnesses that most frequently induce Goodpasture's syndrome are anti-basement membrane antibody-mediated disease, and necrotizing vasculitides, polyarteritis nodosa and Wegener's granulomatosis. The present review shows current concepts about clinical and pathogenetic aspects of these diseases.
