Goussia janae new species apicomplexa eimeriorina in dace leuciscus leuciscus and chub leuciscus cephalus

, : Goussia janae new species apicomplexa eimeriorina in dace leuciscus leuciscus and chub leuciscus cephalus. Diseases of Aquatic Organisms 8(2): 85-90

Goussia janae n. sp. is described from the intestine of dace Leucisus leuciscus and chub L. cephalus. Merogonic, gamogonic and sporogonic stages are localized intracellularly in the apical part of the epithelial cells just beneath the cell membrane, i.e. in the 'epicellular' position. Ellipsoidal oocysts have a mean size of 18.1 .times. 12.7 .mu.m and are without oocyst residuum; ellipsoidal sporocysts (13.5 .times. 5.0 .mu.m) lack Stieda body and sporocyst residuum.
