Immunological investigations of rats immunized with a somatic extract of fasciola hepatica

, : Immunological investigations of rats immunized with a somatic extract of fasciola hepatica. Annales Universitatis Mariae Curie-Sklodowska Sectio DD Medicina Veterinaria 39: 111-122

The studies have been performed in rats immunized twice with somatic extract of Fasciola hepatica (EFh). Precipitins against EFh were present in sera of rats in the course of the whole experiment, and they achieved the highest level at 4th week of the experiment. The most active in humoral immunity appeared to be antibodies for the antigens of EFh. In sera of immunized rats were present precipitins for heterological extracts of D. dendriticum and Paramphistomum sp. Homocytotropic antibodies were present in sera of immunized rats at low titres. A slight mobilization of mast cells was observed only in the skin and muscles. But, high cellular response appeared in rats sacrificed at 6th and 8th week of the experiment.
