Survival of pratylenchus brachyurus in root pieces of molasses grass melinis minutiflora

, : Survival of pratylenchus brachyurus in root pieces of molasses grass melinis minutiflora. Fitopatologia Brasileira 16(1): 22-25

Root pieces of molasses grass were separated from soil naturally infested by Pratylenchus brachyurus at the beginning and at the end of the experimental period, and placed in a blender for one minute, and the nematodes extracted in a Baermann funnel for 48 hours. The nematode survived in root pieces for at least three months. The number of nematodes extracted from soil free of root pieces decreased significantly, indicating that survival was higher in root pieces than in the soil.
