The viability enhancing activity of il 4 on normal human pbmc might relate to cd23 antigen

, : The viability enhancing activity of il 4 on normal human pbmc might relate to cd23 antigen. Zhonghua Weishengwuxue He Mianyixue Zazhi 11(3): 169-172

In this paper the influence of rIL-4 on the viability of normal human PBMC and its possible mechanism were studied. Results showed that rIL-4 sustained PBMC survival in a dose-dependent fashion. This activity might relat to CD23 antigen because rIL-4 could specifically enhance CD23/Fc.epsilon.RII expression of cells, which were subsequently cleaved to yield a variety of soluble fragments (sCD23) carrying certain biological activities. sCD23 increased PBMC viability as sCD23 preparations purified from culture supernatant of EBV-transformed B cell line RPMI8866 could maintain PBMC survival. Besides, anti-CD23 McAb MHM6 which accelerated sCD23 production had similar function.
