The aim of this study was to evaluate current efficiency of diagnosis and therapy of syphilis in Moscow (1995-1996). The authors have analysed histories of 25 patients with symptomatic neurosyphilis (20 cases of early and 5 cases of late syphilis). Severe early neurosyphilis with manifest clinical symptoms was found to prevail in the study group. The quality of diagnosis was poor in the majority of patients.
