Effect of supply times and amount of nutrient solution on the growth of cucumber in medium culture

, : Effect of supply times and amount of nutrient solution on the growth of cucumber in medium culture. Research Reports of the Rural Development Administration (Suweon) 34(2 HORTIC ): 45-50

Cucumbers Cucumis sativus L. cv. Gyoulsaricheongjang were cultivated for 4 months to investigate the effect of supply times and amount of nutrient solution on the growth in several media. We fed of full strength of Hoagland and Arnon's solution and used the media such as rice hull charcoal, perlite, rock wool and charcoal. The growth of cucumber was better at 4 times supply of nutrient solution a day in charcoal and at 8 times in perlite than those other treatments. Mineral content of cucumber plants was higher at 8 times supply a day in perlite. Yield was higher at 8 times supply in all kinds of media. In all kinds of media, the growth was better at 1,200 ml supply of nutrient solution per plant a day than those of others, also change of mineral content in cucumber plant was similar that of growth. In all kinds of media except perlite, the yield were higher at 1,200 ml supply of nutrient solution per plant a day, but that of perlite was higher at 1,500 ml supply.
