Example for the application of multivariate techniques in different stages of the evaluation and screening of pasture species: II. Multivariate analysis of variance

, : Example for the application of multivariate techniques in different stages of the evaluation and screening of pasture species: II. Multivariate analysis of variance. Cuban Journal of Agricultural Science 27(3): 243-246

An example for the application of the multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) is presented in the evaluation and screening process where five species submitted to cutting are evaluated. The experiment lasted three years and it was possible to compare the two factors studied (pasture species and fertilization level) and to include the effect of the year in the comparisons. Results obtained showed the possibilities of MANOVA when the comparison of the effects of the year is of interest and there is not possibility of applying a mixed model due to the lack of uniformity in the matrixes of variance-covariance.

The Bl (broad leaf) trait in maize is controlled by a cluster of genes which produces an umbrella canopy of wide leaf blades and broad husks enclosing a broad ear. It was discovered in Choclero maize. The trait could increase the efficiency of mai...
