IgA nephropathy and Reiter syndrome: A chance association? Report of two cases

, : IgA nephropathy and Reiter syndrome: A chance association? Report of two cases. JN Journal of Nephrology 9(1): 24-26

We describe two cases of Reiter syndrome with IgA nephropathy. In the first patient, a classical triad of urethritis, conjunctivitis and arthritis was observed, in association with diskeratosic skin lesions. In the second patient, the presence of typical arthritis and urethritis, in the absence of conjunctivitis enabled us to make a diagnosis of incomplete Reiter syndrome. Renal biopsy showed IgA nephropathy in both patients. We suggest that the combination of these two disorders, which share a predominant IgA response, is not fortuitous.
