, : Microbial contamination of the lens care systems of soft contact lens wearers in the College of Science, De La Salle University student population. Acta Manilana 44(0): 23-30

The lens care systems of one hundred sixty three (163) soft contact lens (SCL) wearers of the College of Science (COS) De La Salle University (DLSU) undergraduate student population were analyzed. One hundred sixteen (116) of them have contaminated lens care systems. The most frequently contaminated items of the lens care systems were the lenses and lens receptacles with percent contamination of 58.90% and. 57.06%. respectively. Pseudomonas aeruginosa was the leading bacterial contaminant isolated from the lens care systems. Staphylococcus epidermidis ranked second.
